Adelaide Lancaster | In Good Company
In Good Company is a Manhattan-based shared workspace for women entrepreneurs. Co-founders Adelaide Lancaster and Amy Abrams started IGC to help women business-owners network, collaborate, and create a sense of community while giving them access to a professional work environment. I’ve been there and it’s gorgeous! In Good Company is in Chapter Six of Upstarts!, which is about Social Capitalists—entrepreneurs who infuse their companies with a social mission right at the start-up stage. Adelaide and Amy often donate office space to not-for-profit organizations that support the professional development of women and girls, run educational programs for them, and rally their members to make group donations. So their philanthropic activities are right in line with the core mission of their business. In fact, they recently hosted an Upstarts! panel discussion, which you can read about here. We sold books and donated the profits to Girls Write Now.
