Anderson Schoenrock and Michael Mothner | ScanDigital
Anderson Schoenrock and Mike Mothner, friends at Dartmouth College, came up with the idea for ScanDigital, a photo scanning company, when Mother gave his mom a digital camera for Christmas back in 2006. “So how do I put all the photos in the garage on my computer?” his mom asked. The question was an “aha” moment for Schoenrock and Mothner. They decided to start a company that would digitize old photos, slides, videos, and even reel to reel film. Customers send the company their original materials (the process is very secure—I’ve done it!) and several days later, they’re returned along with a DVD/CD; additionally, ScanDigital gives customers’ images a permanent online home on the company’s photo sharing site, where they can organize photos and upload additional images. The company is featured in the Extreme Collaborators chapter of Upstarts, where I talk about ScanDigital’s strategic partnership with Capzles, a social media company that empowers users to share their stories through visually rich multimedia time lines. Since then, the co-founders have also created a partnership with a document scanning company called Pixily. You can read more about ScanDigital here. Also, check out Mike Mothner’s other company, WPromote, a search engine marketing firm that is also an Inc. 500 company.
